Friday 29th April will be the last ‘school’ day for our summer leavers and as such a programme of events to mark their time at Balerno will be in place for them.
Students will start their day with a breakfast in the Riverside Café with the Senior Team before they have an opportunity to take their farewells with individual members of staff and/or prepare for the ceremony itself over period 3.
The programme after Break has been agreed between student representatives and Mr Fullarton and will involve music, speeches and prizes. We hope that it will provide a suitably appropriate send-off ahead of SQA exams the following week. Students should be aware that their official leaving date is not until May 31st.
We will of course share our expectations with all leavers regarding standards of conduct on what is a unique day for them but a working day for all other staff and students in the building. I would be grateful if this could also be underlined at home.
