Biology Study Support for all levels: Available Thursday afternoons in the GFB from 3.30 pm – 4.30 pm. Miss Ford, Miss Mitchell & Mr Howard

Rugby: As with previous years we will offering the opportunity to go and support Scotland’s Rugby team during this year’s Six Nations and Autumn tests.

This will include the following games:

Scotland vs Australia £12.50

Vs Argentina £10

Vs Gorgia £10 (pls note this is at Rugby Park not Murrayfield)

Vs Ireland £20

Vs Wales £20

Vs Italy £17.50

Girls Football:   I am pleased to confirm the girls football sessions will start on Thursday 15th September from 3.45-4.45 pm with your expert coaches Katie Moodie & Grace Fowlie and mentor Mrs Thompson! See you there! L Campbell

Badminton:   Following the success of the sports Fayre and the feedback we received, badminton at Balerno HS will start back next week on Monday 12th September!

Please see the details for your year group: Juniors (S1-2) – 3.30-4.30pm; Seniors (S3-6) – 4.30-5.30pm. Sessions will take place in the sports hall.  Just turn up for the first session and we will let you know how to book on for the block! L Campbell

S1-6 Trampoline Meeting: Could all pupils interested in trampolining please attend a short meeting in the PE sports Hall today at break time 11.05! Attendance is extremely important as key information will be give out! L Campbell

Mouthguards:   We will have a dentist visit the school on Thursday 22nd September to take impressions to make customised mouthguards for hockey and rugby (and any other sport you’d like to use them for). The cost for these is £25. If you’d like to sign up to get a mouthguard please give your name to the PE department. S May

Debating: An exciting opportunity has arisen for pupils aged 14-18 to receive some debating coaching from experienced debaters from Oxford University. The workshop for South Scotland will be held at Craigmount High School in Edinburgh on Thursday 22nd September from 4 – 6.30pm.The workshop ends with an Oxford Admissions talk which may also be of interest to some of our pupils. If you would like to attend, please let Mrs May (F32) know asap. M May

School Clubs: Letters are now ready for collection for the following clubs:

Swim Club – Monday – 3.45-4.45pm

Rooki Lifeguard – Thursday – 6.00-8.00pm

Survive and Save – Thursday – 6.00-8.00pm. Please collect at reception from Mrs Littlejohn.

Hockey Club: All players must attend the meeting at break today in the drama studio. New members are very welcome. M Mayes

Art: Could any pupils wishing to purchase back their National 5/Higher Art & Design folios or their Higher Photography projects please see Mr Wicksted in G45  before the September break. The cost to purchase back folios is a flat rate of £10. The deadline for letting Mr Wicksted know is set at Friday 16th September. L Wicksted
