School Calendars: If you would like to buy a limited edition school calendar for £2.50 to raise money for Jak’s Den please bring the money to reception with your name and tutor group. Your calendar will be delivered to you next Monday 19th December.

Bavelaw Bakesale for Jak’s Den: 1B2 are holding their Jak’s Den Bakesale on Friday 16th Dec at breaktime in the concourse. Bring in some money for some lovely tasty treats – all proceeds going to Jak’s Den.

Rotary Shoebox Appeal (for Balerno and Currie Rotary Club): 1B2 is aiming to fill as many shoeboxes as possible to donate to a great cause.   The gift of a shoebox that contains toys, toiletries, educational items or household goods is a drop of happiness to the people of Eastern Europe who live in a world of poverty. For many, it will be the first present that they have ever received and it lets them know that somebody, somewhere cares.

1B1 will be collecting on Tuesday 20th and Wednesday 21st of December at break and lunchtime in the concourse. If you can spare/donate any of the following items, it would be much appreciated:   Make-up, toiletries, sportswear, scarf, gloves, hat, writing materials, deodorants, comb, mirror, football memorabilia, Toys such as ‘Matchbox’ type toy cars, small bouncy balls, jigsaws, fluffy toys, dolls, colouring books, felt tip pens, Lego, yoyo’s, bubble blow, Household Goods such as hand soap, toothpaste and brushes, envelopes, letter paper, biro pens, baby wipes, cotton wool buds, baby shampoo, baby oil, talc powder, bonnet, boottees and mitts, baby grow, knitted matinee coat, small soft toy or plastic  rattle, etc.

Food Bank Appeal: 1B2 are collecting food bank items to be donated to St. Mungo’s Church on Monday 19th December during PSP. We will also be collecting at break and lunctime in the concourse. If you can spare/donate any of the following items, it would be much appreciated: cereal, soup, pasta, rice, pasta sauce, beans, tinned meat, tinned vegetables, tea/coffee, tinned fruit, biscuits.

Lost Property: A reminder to all pupils to check lost property as items are only held for a limited time.  There are still a few jackets and blazers in lost property so please check if you think they may be yours. 

Future Chef School: Can the winners of the Future Chef School heat please see Mr Gilliland by Wednesday lunchtime. 

S1&2: Sumdog Competition: A reminder to all S1 and S2 pupils that the Sumdog maths competition is running this week. Last day for Questions is Thursday, so get online and have go! There are prizes. Answer as many questions as possible, but remember to answer carefully!!!! Most importantly – have fun!

S3-S6: Any pupil S3-S6 interested in joining the Scottish Youth Parliament please come and see Mr Jack during break on Tuesday.

Rugby Training: Last training session before holiday will be this Thursday (15th December). We will have a number of games after Christmas so it would be great to get as many players along as possible – especially S1s but also U16s.

S1 John Muir – There will be no meeting for John Muir this week. Next Tuesday will be our last meeting before the holidays. We will be watching David Attenborough so feel free to bring along some snacks! See you then. Miss Ford and Miss Mitchell. 

Christmas Carol Concert:   The concert will take place on Monday 19th December at 7pm in the concourse.  Tickets are now on sale from the school office at £5 each.

S1-S6 Christmas Carol Concert: Rehearsal for the concert begin today 13th December.  Please check the music department for your rehearsal times. 

Candy Canes: It is that time of year again! Cockburn Candy Canes are back! We will be selling them every break at the team Jak fundraising reception until the Christmas holiday. The candy canes will cost 50p or 3 for £1 and will be delivered every PSP lesson. All proceeds made will be donated to Jaks Den. Merry Christmas.
