College Open Days Reminder: Edinburgh College is opening the doors of all four of our campuses and inviting all schools from across the region to join us on a campus of your choice at a time that suits you best. We want to ensure all pupils have the opportunity to explore the vast range of options that we offer to support their future choices for August 2017. Each campus has its own diverse range of facilities offering students opportunities to experience, at first hand, industry standards across our curriculum. The dates are as follows:

PE Supported Study: Would you like help and advice with your Nat 5 or Higher PE? Come along to the PE department on a Wednesday lunchtime if you would like help with your Portfolio, exam, preparation for your one off performance or anything else!

S4/5 Information Evening: If you did not receive a letter about the Information Evening for parents during your PSP class yesterday, they are available from the school office.

Career Convention 2017: If you did not receive a letter during PSP they are available from the school office.

Dance Club: Due to seniors having prelims this week we will need to postpone dance club starting until next Monday. Please be assured we are all set to start preparing for the show and the dates are booked for late March. There will be a full dance club meeting shortly re. kit, rehearsals etc so please keep listening to the bulletin! Thanks & Apologies.

Rotary Club Leadership Residential Course: Currie & Balerno Rotary club have offered us two places, free of charge, for one boy and one girl to attend a residential course in Abernethy focusing on developing leadership qualities. This takes place in July 2017. This is an excellent opportunity and will equip you with skills to help undertake leadership roles such as coaches/ captains in sport, positions of responsibility in school and also looks very good in applications. If interested please pop in to guidance this week for more details. This is most suitable for S4 pupils, but the criteria states 15-17 years old.

Netball Training: There is no netball training on Tuesday 17th January but there is a game which players are welcome to watch and support our team if they aren’t involved?

Brexit Debate: Students interested in joining in a debate about BREXIT please see information and come and see Mr Jack if you are interested in joining: ‘People Know How’ are running an event with Edinburgh University from 1pm to 3pm on Friday 27th January that may interest you and your pupils of all ages. This could be of particular interest to your Debating Society, and of course, History, Modern Studies and Business Studies students.

We are pleased to open up the debate / discussion to Edinburgh secondary schools and I would like to invite you and your pupils. There will be speakers from Edinburgh University who will give their thoughts on all things BREXIT and they will encourage and welcome dialogue with the audience.

Football trip:

Football trip to Manchester. If you would like to go to the Manchester City v Stoke City game on the 11th March then please come and see Mr Jack ASAP as space is filling up fast. The trip also includes a tour of Old Trafford in the morning before the game.
