European Day of Languages today, Tuesday 26th September – All year groups – Try saying hello to all your teachers in another language today. We have set a challenge to the teachers. See which teachers can respond in another language. Let us know which department you think is best, obviously the Modern Language Department don’t count.

Netball Club – Netball club runs every Tuesday from 4 – 5pm for S1 – S3 and from 5 – 6pm for S4 – S6. All players new and old are welcome!

Planning university but not sure what to study? Come along to the Careers clinic in the library every Tuesday lunchtime in the LRC.

MUN – A reminder that Model United Nations practice debates are on a Tuesday Lunchtime in F44. All welcome.

Balerno Village Screen – Fancy catching a free film and seeing our very own Nathan Collins perform some “tunes”? Balerno Village Screen are showing ‘Sing Street’ (12A), a Dublin based coming-of-age film as part of the Balerno Music Festival. Tickets are free with donations being taken on the door for Teenage Cancer Trust. Go to to find out more.

Edinburgh Schools Swimming Championships Any swimmers interested in participating in the Edinburgh Schools Swimming Championships which are on Sunday 19th November at Ainslie Park Leisure Centre should speak to Mr May before Wednesday 28th September. Please provide details of your event(s) and personal best times.

Krakow & Berlin Trip 2018 – A reminder that the deposit for this trip is due by Thursday 5th October. Any problems see Mr Ferguson. There are still a number of spaces left so, if any S4 or S5 pupil wishes to go, please see Mr Ferguson in the Guidance Base.

P.E Mouthguards -We will have a dentist visit the school on Wednesday 25th October to take impressions to make customised mouthguards for hockey and rugby (and any other sport you’d like to use them for). The cost for this is £25.
If you would like to sign up to get a mouthguard please give your name to the PE department.

S4 STASH – All S4 pupils who have been chosen to be STASH Ambassadors, please remember to give your signed consent form to Mr Ferguson by Wednesday.

Under 14 Rugby
Well done to the S1 and S2 boys who took part in the first Emerging Schools festival at Murrayfield last week. We are currently leading the completion! Any players who would like to play in the next round of this competition on Friday 29th September at Forrester Rugby Club please speak to Mr May.
