S1-S3 Carnegie Reading Group Thursday 3/05/18 – Thanks to those who have already registered an interest in joining the group. Please come along for a short meeting this Thursday at the start of lunch, to discuss how the group will work. There is still space/time to join for those who never made it last week!

Hats for Kira – You may be aware that Kira Noble a pupil at Firrhill High School is fundraising to pay for a lifesaving operation. Kira has been fighting neuroblastoma since she was 11 and to give Kira the best hope of life she needs to raise £340,000 for potentially lifesaving surgery in New York.

As Teenage Cancer Trust is our school charity this year we feel it would be appropriate to support Kira.
To do this Balerno is going to have a Hats for Kira day on Friday 4th May.
Please wear a hat on Friday and bring a donation. Pupils from 2M2 will come round classes Period 1 along with some of Kira’s friends from Firrhill. Please give what you can.

Girls Football! – Former professional footballer Miss Buckle our current PE student will be taking a 5 week master class of girls football coaching starting this Thursday 3rd May from 3.30-4.30pm.
If you are interested in coming along please sign up via the PE base!

SQA Exams – SQA exams run from 30th April until 1st June.
Most exams are held in the Games Hall with some pupils sitting exams on the first floor, in particular F29 and the meeting rooms.
Afternoon exams usually start at 1.00pm so the Community area outside PE will be out of bounds over lunchtime.
Please be respectful and move quietly around the school, especially around the areas mentioned.
Thank you
