Eco Project – Today’s class for litter picking is 2C2 Drama

Career Ready – Could the following S5s come for a meeting about a venture called ‘Career Ready’ with Miss Brownhill and Mr Jack, Monday 10th September at 1.30pm in F8.
Ryan Cowan, Ethan Harrison, Harvey McDougal, Reece Cockburn, Scott Laurie, Owen Nolan, Kirstie Rutherford, Owen Townsend, and Jack Binnie.
It’s a great opportunity regarding being mentored by a company and getting paid for a 4 week work placement.
If anyone else in S5 is interested in finding out more about it, please feel free to come along as well.

S5/S6 Prize-giving – All Academic Award winners should attend a short meeting in the LRC at 10.10am today.

S2 SKI TRIP JANUARY 2019 – There will be a meeting in Mr Cheyne’s room, G11, on Wednesday 5th September at 1.30pm for all those booked onto the S2 Ski trip in January 2019. It is important that all attend.

S1-S6 Choir – Choir rehearsals will continue on Thursday 6th September at lunch in F09. New members welcome.

London Trip – Can all S3/S4 pupils who are going to London please come to a short meeting in F44 during break on Wednesday please.

Senior Boys Scottish Cup Rugby – The senior boys are due to play their first round game against Musselburgh on Tuesday 11th September. Please speak to Mr May asap if you’re able to play.

Edinburgh & Midlothian Schools Swimming Championships – Any pupil wanting to enter the Edinburgh and Midlothian Schools Swimming Championships should speak to Mr May in the PE department. Swimmers can participate in a maximum of two events plus the relay. All entrants must meet the qualifying standard times. The event takes place on Sunday 18th November at Ainslie Park Leisure Centre. More details available from Mr May.

To all S3s: If you are interested in doing your Bronze Duke of Edinburgh this year please attend a meeting for you and your parents at 7.30pm on Thursday 13th September, in the canteen. The group is run by volunteers parents. Numbers are limited.

Debating Club – Following on from a great year of debating the club returns to classroom F33 during Wednesday lunch. Bring your lunch and watch debates, take part or help others get competition ready for this year’s events. All welcome.

S1 Annual Christmas Show
It’s that time of year again when S1s have the opportunity to watch a Christmas show at the Lyceum. This year’s offering is Wendy and Peter Pan. But hurry, we only have sixty tickets. See Miss Davie F33, if interested.

Boys and Girls Hockey Club: There is a meeting at Friday break in the Games Hall, all members must attend. Please bring along friends and all new players are very welcome!

Medical Society – All S4-S6 pupils interested in doing medicine are welcome to come along to Balerno’s Medical Society which will take place every Tuesday lunch in the GFB starting 4th September. In this we will help you with the process of applying to study medicine and discuss recent medical issues.

Edinburgh is host city to Eurocities Conference 28-30 November 2018 and your young people AGED 16+ are needed!
Great skills development, experience to include in their C.V. and personal statement, chance to show off this wonderful city that is theirs to young people (18-30) from 60 cities across Europe, who are attending along with their mayors.
Both opportunities are free to the participants and full support is given from our experienced and dynamic EUROCITIES Edinburgh Youth Programme Curator, Beata Skobodzinska.
