Scottish Schools Road Race Championships – Any pupils wanting to enter this event which will be held in Falkirk on Wednesday 3rd October should speak to Mr May asap as entries close on Friday 14th September! Races are open to individuals and/or teams and will be over 1.5 miles. More details from Mr May.
Bake Sale – This Friday we are holding a bake sale during break in the concourse. All cakes are 50p so come along to get some delicious treats.
GADGET CLUB – The Gadget club will meet every Wednesday lunchtime at 1.10pm. All members should arrive promptly at G12 and can bring lunch along.
ART FOLIO RETURNS – If individuals wish to buy back their folios this session, the return of assessment materials form is available on the SQA website. This is no longer the responsibility of the Art & Design department, but is up to the individual to process returns. Any questions about this can be directed to Mr Wicksted in Art & Design.

Hairdressing Opportunity – A company is looking for school leavers to fill a position in our salon as a full time assistant to start as soon as possible. We require highly motivated and dedicated students to work full time, gaining SVQ levels 2 and 3 within our salon then going onto our industry beating standards before qualifying as a professional stylist/colourist within our company. Our training programme takes around 3- 4 years all in and the job role requires forward thinkers that can handle time pressured days in a fun and creative environment. Bavelaw House Team – All pupils – Creative Competition – If you are creative, take part in Bavelaw’s creative competition! There are three categories: writing, drawing and photography. The winners will be displayed on the Bavelaw board in the concourse, though students from all houses can participate. Entries should be based on the theme of ‘Autumn’ and must be handed in to Mr Ferguson by Friday 28th September
S1 – S3 Triathlon
Any pupils interested in trying out Triathlon are welcome to sign up to take part in a couple of taster events. The first one is a Duathlon (Bike and Run) which will be on Friday 26th October.
The second event will be an Aquathlon (Swim and Run) in March.

Edinburgh & Midlothian Schools Swimming Championships – Any pupil wanting to enter the Edinburgh and Midlothian Schools Swimming Championships should speak to Mr May in the PE department. Swimmers can participate in a maximum of two events plus the relay. All entrants must meet the qualifying standard times. The event takes place on Sunday 18th November at Ainslie Park Leisure Centre. More details available from Mr May.
To all S3s: If you are interested in doing your Bronze Duke of Edinburgh this year please attend a meeting for you and your parents at 7.30pm on Thursday 13th September, in the canteen. The group is run by volunteers parents. Numbers are limited.
Boys and Girls Hockey Club: There is a meeting at Friday break in the Games Hall, all members must attend. Please bring along friends and all new players are very welcome!
