Poetry Competition (S1-S3) – Last call for entries to the Pentland Book Festival competition. Your poem on the theme of ‘Rebel’ should be no more than 25 lines long. Please hand entries to Mrs Timoney by Thursday lunchtime. Good Luck to those who have already entered, first prize is £50 cash.

Girls Football – Please note there will be no girls football this week but it will restart after the October break on Thursdays 3.45-4.45pm with Miss Buckle!

Scottish Schools Indoor Rowing Championships – Any pupil wishing to enter this event should speak to Mr May before Friday 26th October. The competition takes place at Ravenscraig Sports Centre in Motherwell on Friday 16th November and it is open to individual and team entries.  More details available from Mr May.

MUN Copenhagen – There is a meeting Thursday breaktime in F40 (Mrs McCorkell’s room) for all S6 pupils coming to Copenhagen. Attendance is mandatory. Make sure you know which committee you will be participating in and be ready to let me know. Thanks!

S6 Malleny UCAS – All personal statements which were handed in by the deadline of Friday 5th October have been marked and are on the Guidance Base door. Please ensure these are collected and worked on over the October week. If you did not make the deadline I expect copies of personal statements to be ready for after the holiday week. Thanks.

Bavelaw Creative Competition – Congratulations to the winners of last month’s creative competition,  Katie MacDonald 1B1 and Max Glover 4B1, whose artwork is now on the Bavelaw board.  This month, the competition continues with a new theme of ‘spooky’ and categories of art and photography.  Enties must be in by Friday 2nd November and this month’s winners will earn points for their house and a prize. 

Craft Club – Please note that Craft Club will not meet on Wednesday of this week as staff are away at S1 residential.  Look forward to seeing you all on Wednesday lunchtime after the holidays.

Lost Property – If you have lost anything, please come along and check lost property in the print room. There are lots of items including jackets and if anything is left at the start of the October break this will be given to charity.

MMA – is in the end sports hall, Currie High School, on Thursdays from 4:15 to 5:30pm. All ages welcome.

Boys and Girls Hockey Club: There is a meeting at Friday break in the Games Hall, all members must attend. Please bring along friends and all new players are very welcome!

GADGET CLUB – The Gadget club will meet every Wednesday lunchtime at 1.10pm. All members should arrive promptly at G12 and can bring lunch along.
