Italy trip – Please can all pupils going on the Italy trip come to Mrs. Harvey-Jamieson’s rooms F50 on Tuesday break time to organise rooming at the hotel.

CAREER READY – Career Ready is an exciting opportunity for (new) S5 students to gain experience in the workplace and make some professional contacts.  It is a two year programme that you graduate from and receive a certificate.  There is a 4-week employment placement at the end of the first year.  I have asked guidance teachers for names of students that could benefit from this programme.   Please could you come to a short meeting with Miss Brownhill on Thursday lunchtime at 1.30pm in F08 (Music) to find out more about the programme.  However if your name is not on the list and you think you might be interested then please do come along!

CHALLENGE WEEK – AMELIE – If you are going to see ‘Amelie, the musical’ with Miss Brownhill and Mrs Anderson on Wednesday 26th June, please come and collect a letter about the trip asap.

S5/6 – Challenge Week – Please can all new S5 and S6 pupils check your Challenge Week activities carefully with your tutor over the next few days and come to see me if there are any discrepancies – wrong activity or no activity for either / both days.

I’m available before school, at break time, at the start of lunch and most days straight after school.

Note that only Mr Hamilton can authorise changes at this late stage. Do not speak to anybody else as they won’t be able to help you.

I will be unable to make any changes for seniors after Friday 14th June. The deadline for new S2 to S4 has now passed so no more changes.

A reminder that you’ll have to touch base with your group leader to fill in a KIC permission form and arrange any payment via ParentPay asap. No KIC, no payment = no go !

Challenge Week – Mini-golf – The following pupils are required to attend a meeting in Art & Design(G45-Mr Wicksted’s room) on Wednesday at 1.15pm to discuss arrangements for Mini-Golf. Attendance is vital.

Challenge Week – Alton Towers Trip: There are still some outstanding payments for the Alton Towers Trip. This is available to pay on Parent Pay. Any issues come and speak to Miss McCaig

Challenge Week – Thursday Zoo Trip – Could the following pupils please return their permission slips and appropriate payment ASAP. If you do not have a permission slip (which details the costs) please see Miss Muir in G31.

 

House Championships – This year’s House Championships (School Sports) will take place on Friday 21st June!

Heats for the sprints (80m for new S2 – S4 and 100m for the new S5 and S6) and the 800m will be completed during PE lessons over the next couple of weeks. If you missed your heat during PE due to absence or injury you can come along after school to get a time on Thursday 13th June from 3.45 – 4.30pm.

S6s are  welcome to come along on Tuesday 11th June to get a time for the 100m and/or 800m during period 5.

Relays will be on Friday 21st as well as the finals so start organising your teams in Tutor Time – the more teams you can get to compete then the more points your house will earn. Can anyone stop Malleny winning three in a row?! Any questions please speak to the PE department.

S6s – House Championships – If you would like to get a time for the 100m and/or 800m which will earn your house vital points and will give you the chance to qualify for the House Championships finals you can come along to PE during period 5 on Tuesday 11th June. If you can’t make this you are very welcome to come along after school on Thursday 13th June. House Championship finals and relays will take place on Friday 21st June.

Zoology Club – Zoology now runs on a Tuesday lunchtime (G31 – Miss Muir’s room).

Challenge Week-Camera Obscura trip – Could all pupils going to the Camera Obscura on Wednesday 26th or Thursday 27th June please see Miss Hastie in G01 asap to collect 2 forms for the trip (permission form, with details of payment, plus a KIC form). We cannot take you out of school without these forms.

For anyone who has collected forms but not yet returned them, could you please do so this week as Camera Obscura will need to know final numbers.
