Please read to all S5/6 students:
S6 LEAPS – If you think you might be LEAPS eligible, please ensure you complete the online survey at http://www.leapsurvey.org by Thursday evening latest. Interviews will be on Monday to Wed. If for any reason you cannot make the time of your interview, please feel free to swap with someone else. If this is not possible, please let me know.
UCAS – Early applicants- If you plan to study medicine, veterinary medicine, dentistry or at Oxford or Cambridge, you need to go through an accelerated process to meet your application deadline of 8th October. You must attend a meeting during Key Adult time on Friday 23rd August in the LRC to begin this process.
Please read to all S5/6 students: If you are interested in taking Higher Human Biology please come and see Mrs Coffey at the end of tutor time today (10.20).
Paired Reading: Could the following S6 Paired Reading mentors please meet in the LRC on Thursday 28th P5:
Scripture Union Group (SU) resumes today for all S1 – S6 at lunchtime in F10. Bring your lunch and join us for a time of exploring the Christian faith through various interactive media. All welcome.
S4 Opportunity – My World of Work School Ambassadors: An exciting opportunity is available for any S4 pupil who would like to become a My World of Work School Ambassador. This is an excellent role which involves the following:
• Attending a full-day training course in September,
• Promoting My World of Work to S1-3 pupils,
• Telling parents and carers about My World of Work at parents’ evenings,
• Visiting the primary schools to help P7s register for My World of Work.
This role will allow you to build your CV as well as build your confidence and other important skills. If you are interested, please see Mr Ferguson in the Guidance Base by Monday 26th August.
Dance Club: Dance Club will be back up and running as of next week. This is a great opportunity to keep healthy, meet new people and enjoy a variety of styles of dance. Anyone who is intending to come to any of the dance classes on offer this year should attend a short meeting on Friday at break in the small gym in PE. Looking forward to seeing our regular dancers and lots of new ones too Thanks.
Lessons from Auschwitz – Holocaust Educational Trust – An opportunity for two senior students to take part in the above project, which includes hearing a talk from a Holocaust Survivor and a day visit to Auschwitz-Birkenau, Poland. This is a fully funded opportunity to take part in an excellent project. You must be in S5-S6, over 16 and have a current valid passport. For more details and an application form please see Mrs Loy in F43, if she is not there take an application form and information sheet from the door. Applications close on Monday 26 August

Career Ready: Could all S6 Career Ready students come and see Miss Brownhill for a very short meeting at break time today in F09, please?
S1-S6 Choir Rehearsals: Choir rehearsals will resume today at 1.15pm in F09. New members are welcome.
Zoology Club – Zoology Club is every Tuesday lunchtime in Miss Muir’s room (G31). Zoology Club is involves learning about life on Earth, caring for class animals, having fun and making a difference. All welcome
