LRC Lunchtimes – Due to the number of pupils in the LRC at lunchtime, from next week each year group will have access on different days. This includes the whole of the LRC area – with no exceptions.

Gardening club: Do you have green fingers, want to grow plants or just spend lunch time doing some gardening outside? Gardening club is starting on Tuesday lunchtimes. First plan is to tidy up the courtyard area between the science labs. Other plans include planting seeds, growing veg, making use of the greenhouse and having fun while improving the environment of the school. Meet at G33 (Goldfish bowl) every Tuesday lunchtime – all welcome!
S6 LEAPS – If you think you might be LEAPS eligible, please ensure you complete the online survey at http://www.leapsurvey.org by Thursday evening latest. Interviews will be on Monday to Wed. If for any reason you cannot make the time of your interview, please feel free to swap with someone else. If this is not possible, please let me know.
UCAS – Early applicants- If you plan to study medicine, veterinary medicine, dentistry or at Oxford or Cambridge, you need to go through an accelerated process to meet your application deadline of 8th October. You must attend a meeting during Key Adult time on Friday 23rd August in the LRC to begin this process.
S2 Boys Football – The first training session for S2 boys will be on Monday 26th August from 3.45 – 4.45pm. All players who are keen to represent the school team should try to attend this session but if you are unable to make it please speak to Mr May. First game is scheduled for Saturday 31st August.
Loch Lomond Fieldtrip: Can all National 5 and Higher Geographers confirm their place on this trip by making the £10 payment on parent pay. The trip will run on Tuesday 17th September. Any issues please come and speak to Mr. Hamilton or Mrs. Harvey-Jamieson.
S4 Opportunity – My World of Work School Ambassadors: An exciting opportunity is available for any S4 pupil who would like to become a My World of Work School Ambassador. This is an excellent role which involves the following:
• Attending a full-day training course in September,
• Promoting My World of Work to S1-3 pupils,
• Telling parents and carers about My World of Work at parents’ evenings,
• Visiting the primary schools to help P7s register for My World of Work.
This role will allow you to build your CV as well as build your confidence and other important skills. If you are interested, please see Mr Ferguson in the Guidance Base by Monday 26th August.
GSA (Gender Sexuality Alliance) – On every Monday lunch in F43 (Mrs Loy’s room). Today we’ll be kicking back off with a visit from STASH who will be talking about LGBT topics and queer sexual health.
Zoology Club – Zoology Club is every Tuesday lunchtime in Miss Muir’s room (G31). Zoology Club is involves learning about life on Earth, caring for class animals, having fun and making a difference. All welcome
Dance Club: Dance Club will be back up and running as of next week. This is a great opportunity to keep healthy, meet new people and enjoy a variety of styles of dance. Anyone who is intending to come to any of the dance classes on offer this year should attend a short meeting on Friday at break in the small gym in PE. S5/6 Statistics Higher Unit: Would you like to achieve another Higher qualification? If interested come along to G10 on Monday at lunchtime (1.15) to find out how you could complete a Higher unit in Statistics.
