Mr Mann Whole school assembly: We will be having a whole school assembly on Friday to celebrate Mr Mann’s life. If you wish to share a memory, have a presentation shared, do a reading that reflects your memory of Mr Mann, please speak to your guidance teacher or speak to Mrs Coffey, Ms Ranger or Mr McCallum.

School Buses: The school buses will continue to be parked on Bavelaw road at the end of the school day, due to the ongoing road works at the front of the school. Please leave by the rear of the school and exit through to Bavelaw road until further notice. Those pupils in one of the minibuses or taxis should leave by the front of the school to be picked up as normal.

Eco Project – Todays class for litter picking is 3C2 with Mr May.

 

Use of social spaces at lunchtime: We are aware inside social areas are very busy at lunchtimes so we are zoning certain areas for specific year groups.

As from this week to eat and socialise:

  • S1/2 should only use the Riverside
  • S3/4/5 should only use the concourse
  • S6 should only use their social area

Leaver Opportunities: A reminder to all S5/6 pupils who are looking for apprenticeships/ jobs, etc. that the Edinburgh Guarantee is posted on the school website and put on the board across from the Guidance Base every week. This week’s opportunities include travel consultancy, IT, Business and Admin Modern Apprenticeships with initial salaries ranging from £13000 to £20000 p.a. S1 Hockey meeting: There is a hockey meeting for all new S1 (boys and girls) who would be interested in joining the hockey team. You don’t have to have played before. Come along to a meeting in the Games Hall at break today.

U16 Football: Any boys keen to play football for the U16 team should speak to Mr May as soon as possible. First game is at home against Broughton this Saturday (31st August).

Girls Football: We are currently looking for a coach to take girls football so please stand by for more details!

S1 – S6 Choir: Choir rehearsals will continue on Thursday at 1.20pm in F09.  New members are welcome.

S2 Ski Trip January 2020: All S2 pupils going on the January 2020 ski trip to Italy must attend a meeting in Mr Cheyne’s room (G11) on Thursday 29th August at 1.30pm. Everybody MUST attend.

Loch Lomond Fieldtrip: Can all National 5 and Higher Geographers confirm their place on this trip by making the £10 payment on parent pay. The trip will run on Tuesday 17th September. Any issues please come and speak to Mr. Hamilton or Mrs. Harvey-Jamieson.

S1-S6 Violin Tuition: Mrs. Miller will return to school on Wednesday 4th September.  Lessons will continue from this date so please bring your instruments on the 4th.   All senior pupils should continue to attend the string ensemble rehearsals at lunchtime on Wednesday 28th August.

At after school sessions we are likely to split into smaller groups depending on experience/ style of dance. Looking forward to seeing lots of you there.

S5/6 Statistics Higher Unit:   Would you like to achieve another Higher qualification? If interested come along to G10 on Monday at lunchtime (1.15) to find out how you could complete a Higher unit in Statistics.
