Boys Hockey: If you are wanting to play in Boys hockey matches at the weekends this year it is essential that you attend a meeting in the Games Hall on Thursday at break time. If you have not handed back your hockey letter you must also bring this to the meeting. 

Junior Rights Respecting Schools Group: Are you in S1 to S3? Are you interested in current world issues? Would you like to understand more about children’s rights and share your own views and ideas? Would you like work with others to help Balerno achieve our Silver Rights Respecting Schools Award? Then sign up to join the Junior Rights Respecting Schools Group! Speak to Miss Templeton in G16/F45 to let us know you are interested or have any questions. The first meeting for anyone interested will be at lunchtime on Monday the 4th of October in F45.

Bronze DofE Group: Following on from last Thursday’s meeting, any pupils who started Bronze DofE with Pentland DofE last year and would like help completing their EDofE profile, please come to the LRC on Thursday 23/9 and/or Thursday 30/9 at lunchtime. Come along after you have had your lunch and you can stay to upload evidence or you can drop in and ask any questions you might have. 

Creative Writing: If you enjoy writing creatively and would like the opportunity to prepare for writing competitions and experimenting with your writing amongst supportive peers, come to Ms Brown’s room, (F32) on Thursday lunchtimes from 1:20. Open to all year groups. If you have any questions, please speak to Ms Brown in the English Department.

S1 Football Team:  If you are interested in playing for the S1 football team this year, please come along to a short meeting in the PE games hall on Wednesday during morning break for more information.

Scottish Schools Team Ski Slalom: This competition takes place on Wednesday 29th September at Hillend – this is open to experienced skiers only.  If you are interested in taking part then please see Mr Russell (Active Schools) or Mr May in PE dept by this Wednesday 22nd.  This is a team event and entry is dependent on the number of skiers we have.

S5/S6 Senior School Football Team: If you are interested in playing there will be a sign-up sheet in the PE department.  We will play in a league against other Edinburgh schools as well as cup games.  The games will be held on Friday afternoons.  There will be no training.  Subs will be required.
