Duke of Edinburgh 2020 Group: Can all S4s who started their Duke of Edinburgh last year with Pentland DofE please come to a short meeting in F45 this Friday (1st) breaktime. Attendance is vital as I will be sharing updates from Pentland DofE about your Bronze award. If you can’t make it, please see Miss Templeton in F45.
Maths Enrichment Club If you enjoy maths and puzzles and problem solving games and want to take part in some extra mathematical activities then please come along to room G10 at lunch time every Tuesday at 1:10pm
Rubik’s Cube Competition: The competition is on Thursday afternoon during lunch at Mr Paterson’s, anyone who can solve a Rubik’s Cube can come along. Rules will be explained then, only requirement is to be able to solve the Rubik’s Cube in under a minute. Competitors can either bring their own cube, I will provide them with one if they didn’t.
Junior Rights Respecting Schools Group: Are you in S1 to S3? Are you interested in current world issues? Would you like to understand more about children’s rights and share your own views and ideas? Would you like work with others to help Balerno achieve our Silver Rights Respecting Schools Award? Then sign up to join the Junior Rights Respecting Schools Group! Speak to Miss Templeton in G16/F45 to let us know you are interested or have any questions. The first meeting for anyone interested will be at lunchtime on Monday the 4th of October in F45.
Bronze DofE Group: Following on from last Thursday’s meeting, any pupils who started Bronze DofE with Pentland DofE last year and would like help completing their DofE profile, please come to the LRC on Thursday 23/9 and/or Thursday 30/9 at lunchtime. Come along after you have had your lunch and you can stay to upload evidence or you can drop in and ask any questions you might have.
Creative Writing: If you enjoy writing creatively and would like the opportunity to prepare for writing competitions and experimenting with your writing amongst supportive peers, come to Ms Brown’s room, (F32) on Thursday lunchtimes from 1:20.
