Bulletin – Monday 9th May

Focus of the week – Inclusion: Our commitment to the school values is shown by wearing the correct uniform so we feel part of the Balerno community

LRC – closure: Due to the SQA examinations the LRC is closed for the month of May.

This is during class periods, breaks and lunch.

Eco Project: Todays class for litter picking is 2Mat 2 Maths with G Paterson.

3G Thursday 12th May: The 3G will be closed from lunchtime onwards for essential maintenance work.

Ceilidh Band:  Will not be on today but will be on Thursday, 12 May in Miss Brownhill’s room at lunchtime.  All new members welcome.

Rights Respecting Schools Group: We have our first meeting back at lunchtime today (Monday 9th) in F45. New members always welcome! If you can’t make a Monday, speak to Miss Templeton or Mr Russell to find out how else you can get involved. 

Current S3- Duke of Edinburgh Award: Applications are now open for the Duke of Edinburgh Award for any current S3 who would like to take part. Please drop by F45 to collect an application form or have a look at assignments on the Information Teams page. All applications must be submitted by the end of the day on Friday 13/5/22. Any questions, let Miss Templeton know. 

Theatre Trip: A reminder to all S3 pupils attending the theatre trip Tuesday afternoon please ensure they bring a packed lunch as we will be leaving before lunch time. Please meet in the concourse promptly at 12:15 as the coaches will be leaving at 12:30.

Scottish Schools Secondary Track & Field Athletics Championships:  This event takes place on Friday 10th and Saturday 11th June at Grangemouth Stadium.  If you would like to enter please see Mr Russell (Active Schools) in PE base for an entry pack.  Please note there are strict qualifying standards for this event, and you will need to meet the standards to be able to enter.  Closing date for entries is Friday 13th May.
