S3/4 – Maths trips to Edinburgh University (June 11th) – Could any pupils going to this event please attend a short meeting at Friday breaktime in G12:

S4-6 Pupils Interested in Studying Medicine – The Royal College of Surgeons is hosting a ‘Getting into Medical School’ information day for local school pupils intersetd in a career in medicine. This will take place on Saturday, 31st August at 9.30 – 4pm. If you wish to attend you should email outreach@rcsed.ac.uk.  Places are limited and this is a free event. For more info see notice on College and University board outside of F38.

CAREER READY – Can ALL Career Ready students come and see Miss Brownhill on WEDNESDAY at 1.30pm.  I have information about your third masterclass which is on the 12th June. Thank you.

Bake Sale – The Senior Hockey Club is having a bake sale on Friday the 6th June to raise money for kit for their hockey tour in the concourse at break time Please see Katie Swanson or Miss Duncan for more information.

Zoology Club – Zoology now runs on a Tuesday lunchtime (G31 – Miss Muir’s room).

Challenge Week-Camera Obscura trip – Could all pupils going to the Camera Obscura on Wednesday 26th or Thursday 27th June please see Miss Hastie in G01 asap to collect 2 forms for the trip (permission form, with details of payment, plus a KIC form). We cannot take you out of school without these forms.  For anyone who has collected forms but not yet returned them, could you please do so this week as Camera Obscura will need to know final numbers.

S6 – If you were in Ms Stride’s Higher Maths class could you please return your text book to Ms Stride or the Maths Department. Thank you

Disaster Film Club and 1.15 Film Club – Just a reminder that the Disaster Film Club continues to run every Thursday lunch time (currently showing First Man – about Neil Armstrong, the first man on the moon). All welcome. Also, I am starting a brand new film club which will run every Tuesday lunch time. It is going to showcase 15 certificate action films and you will need a permission slip from me to attend this.  The first movie will be Hacksaw Ridge: Based on a true story about a conscientious objector soldier saving 75 men during WWII in the South Pacific without carrying or firing a weapon.  Come and see me for a permission slip and enjoy a selection of movies intended for a more mature audience.  Thank you.

Wider Achievement Evening rehearsal – All pupils who have been nominated for an award at the Wider Achievement Evening should attend a rehearsal in the course at 2.15pm on Thursday afternoon.  Pupils are expected to arrive for 6.30pm on the night.

Career Info – Kids Insight afterschool childcare service is currently seeking to recruit a number of new staff from August 2019. The role would suit young people in S5 from when school ends at 3.30pm up to 6pm, Monday to Thursday or S6 pupils who have availability anytime between 2.30pm and 3.00pm up to 6pm Monday to Thursday.
